Walden Lake Golf & Country Club is a Semi-Private, 36 hole golf course facility located in Plant City, Florida.
Walden Lake Golf & Country Club has two 18-hole golf courses, they are The Lakes Course and The Hills Course.
The Lakes Course first opened in 1987. The course architect was Ron Garl. Jack Nicklaus redesigned the back nine on the Lakes Course.
The Lakes Course is memorable because of all the water hazards coming into play and the numerous dogleg fairways.
#8 Lakes Course Par 3, 149 yards. One of the most demanding par 3's. The hole itself is not long but the green is guarded by water all the way with three sand traps protecting the green itself. The Green is a two-tiered with the green sloping from back to front.
#15 Lakes Course Par 3, 159 yards. The green on this hole is long, wide and undulating. The area left and front of this green is a good place to miss, seeing as how the green is protected in front by water and by bunkers in the back. If you make the green be aware of the pin location going uphill give it a rap, but watch yourself coming downhill as your putt can easily run far past the hole.
The course closed in 2017.

We wanted to play the Hills course, but it was closed so we had to settle for the lakes course. Not that impressed, I worked with the developer in the 70's and always wanted to return to play the course(s). Looks like they have gone down hill since Walden Lake is sold out.
